What I’ve learned
Start where they started
Here’s what I’ve learned from the first women on my platform, Be Your Own CEO. Almost none of them came because someone sat them down at ChatGPT. They came to get a grip on their money and to put AI to work in their own lives. They found real confidence and a sense of being in control, and the tools became a step they chose for themselves. So if the person you’re thinking of won’t start with ChatGPT, stop starting with ChatGPT. Start where they started.
Above all
Before the four, there’s one thing they all rest on, and it’s the one that’s easiest to skip: listen to them first. ChatGPT isn’t the point. The tool isn’t even the point. They’re a means to whatever they value, their freedom, their security, more time for what gives them purpose. Find out what that is, and connect everything back to it. Do that, and the four below follow on their own.
1 · Their own why
Connect it to their own life and their reasons for wanting to learn about money.
A 73-year-old only came alive on the AI journey when it became about her own dreams. A 29-year-old’s whole shift came from one personal exercise: working out her own number.
2 · Their curiosity
Spark their curiosity, and let them lean in without any pressure.
A 69-year-old’s money-anxiety eased into freedom precisely because nothing was pushed on her. A lifelong skeptic asked every question she needed, because she’d decided to truly understand it rather than nod along.
3 · Their confidence
Speak to their confidence, their sense of control, and their freedom.
One woman moved from handing every decision to her financial planner to taking the driver’s seat. Another found she could finally say no to the work that drained her.
4 · Their pace
Let them learn and discover at their own pace. Timing is everything.
On the Money journey they moved lesson by lesson. On AI, they stalled. They were not stuck. They were too inspired to continue. One ran off to write her second book. That stall was the whole thing.
